When I was growing up, ALL I wanted to do was be a sports writer and broadcaster. I drove my Mom nuts, ESPN was on constantly, and ai ate it up. I thought, ‘how cool would it be to ask these larger then lige figures questions, to share opinions, to disagree, to have varying opinions’. As I advanced thru high school, I wrote sports for the school paper, continued writing in college and studied journalism and broadcasting, honing my craft, if I was going to do this, I was going to be ready, but most of all, prepared, for whatever, life was threw at me.

Fast forward to now? And, well, turns out, I was also put on this earth to help people. I work in a hospital, registering patients in the ED in my hometown, a place that my 22 year old self wanted soooo desperately out of. And, not surprisingly, I love my job, this is what I was put here to do, to help, help people, help patients, make their days better, make my coworkers days more tolerable when our days are brutal, and in some cases long and seemingly never ending.

The great thing about this blog? I can come on here and express my opinion as afforded to me by my First Amendment rights in our constitution, something it is our duty as citizens to protect, at all costs. At least, I thought I had that protection, until recently.

The cancellation of The Late Show with Steven Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live are atrocious and go against everything the First Amendment is supposed to protect. Should the comments been made? Probably not. Were they insensitive and ill-timed and of base? Yup. Do I, as a predominantly Liberal voter feel what happened to Charlie Kirk was awful and heartbreaking and his death, just like others before him should not have been celebrated? Yes, his death was horrific and no one, man, woman or child should go thru that and what his family is currently experiencing.

However, President Trump’s gleeful childlike reactions that they are canceled are unacceptable. The shows being canceled aren’t helping, they’re hurting our rights, Mr. President. It’s the equivalent of, running to the teacher when not allowed on the swings at recess. ‘They hurt my feelings!! Oh they’ll get a time out? (sniffle) You mean it?!? YAY!!!’

What’s happening in our country is not good. Our rights are shrinking, all because our President, our Fearless Leader has insecurities and uses the tag line, ‘Bad People.’
